February is my favorite month is San Francisco. The past few months of wind and rain give way to sunnier and longer days, and the city's energy changes from dreary to cheerful. After spending the past few days basking in the glory that is warmer weather, I've become fixated on shopping for Spring Fashion. One of my favorite Spring 2010 trends is clothing made for the tropics. Bright colors, bold prints; it's as if Carmen Miranda started her own clothing line, and I'm loving the festive vibe. One designer who has taken this trend and transformed it from theatrical to wearable is Diane Von Furstenberg. Her Spring 2010 Collection is full of island inspired clothing like flowing dresses, bright bangles, and tropical prints. This Syrah Top from her Spring collection has the same tropical feel as her runway pieces, yet this is a little easier to blend in with the rest of your wardrobe. For those of you still covered in snow, this top works well when paired with dark jeans and knee high boots. As the days get warmer, try this top with a pair of loose cargo pants, or a tiered skirt, another one of this season's hot trends.
