With the New Year as inevitable as the pounds I'll gain from eating holiday treats, I can't help but think of much needed improvements for 2009. Besides a renewed interest in hitting the gym at 6:00 a.m., the quest for an outside as fabulous as the inside is my number one New Year's resolution. A person's attire is an indicator of who they are inside, and being that I'm on vacation, my attire says "I sleep 'till noon and enjoy eating baked goods". Needless to say this is not an appealing look and should be stopped ASAP, however I am enjoying the laissez faire approach to change, and will sit tight until the New Year.
As part of making the outside as fabulous as the inside, I find it best to choose pieces that express my favorite qualities. Pieces such as this Astrid Jacket from JCrew. Whether I pair it with black jeans and sky-high pumps for hitting the dance floor, or wear it with loafers for an eclectic look, this jacket is a mix of fancy lady meets funky girl. In other words, it's the perfect hybrid of who I was and who I want to be. On sale for just $199, this wardrobe revival item is $175 off the original price. 2% cash back will help me make a fresh start to the New Year, and a new "me".
For the wild, speaks-without-thinking part of me, I've found a pair of shoes loud enough to rival
my mouth, yet dainty enough for the times when all this girl wants to do is just have fun. A great pair of heels can instantly brighten one's day, and these shoes will not just brighten my day, they'll act like instant mood lifters, making me happy whenever I glance down at the floor. These blue suede shoes by Loeffler Randall are the perfect match for cropped jeans, black leggings, and oversized sweaters. The dressed/un-dressed look is a match for the part of me that likes to wear adorable heels, yet stay at home in my pajamas. Speaking of pajamas, I found these from the comfort of home while browsing Shopbop. At 50% off and 3% cash back, they're a cheaper way to improve my shoe collection, and they get me thinking of my next New Year's resolution: saving money.
