As you well know, today is the day after Christmas. So we can all relax, take a deep breath (and perhaps a sigh of relief) and enjoy the last few days of 2008. Not only is the twenty-sixth of December the day after Christmas, it is also a public Holiday known as Boxing Day. So the Holidays are not over yet, and neither are the excuses to recklessly shop!
Traditionally, Boxing Day is day in which the fortunate people of the world are supposed to give back to the less fortunate. However, the holiday has really morphed into a somewhat official shopping holiday were people take advantage of all the holiday sales retailers have to offer. People are no longer shopping for gifts, rather they are shopping for the things they did not get for Christmas, or better yet, for great deals impossible to refuse. I will most likely be taking advantage of some quiet time to eat leftovers and hang out with my family, while also visiting Ebates to check on some items that I am hoping will be further reduced in the spirit of Boxing Day sales. One item in
particular is this Alice + Olivia Asymmetrical Ruffle Pencil Skirt from Shopbop. Right now the skirt is 30% off and $308 with 6% cash back. While it was originally, $440, the reduced price is enough to spike my interest but not low enough for me to swoop in and buy. I have missed out on one too many great deals on items just like this that I desperately need in my wardrobe, so I think this purchase will involve a little strategy and hopefully some Boxing Day sentiment on the part of Shopbop, where they can feel bad for the less fortunate (me) and lower the price while miraculously still having my size in stock.
