Whats Next? Mascara With Motors...Yep.

Sometimes I wonder, with all the developing technology, if popular culture has turned into some freakish Sci-Fi movie that scared teenagers sitting in basements fifty years ago. What spawned this new outburst of thoughts? Easy: the advent of oscillating mascaras introduced by Lancôme and Estee Lauder. They look exactly like traditional mascaras with an average container, but have motors causing the wand to vibrate for a better, more thorough, and clump-free application.

Lancome According to Lancôme, the result of the vibrating mascara wand are lashes that are "extended, separated and visibly multiplies", okay, you are slowly convincing me. Although the thought of a motorized device that close to my eye (especially with my lack-of-precision) actually frightened me. At least it did, but that was before I saw the demonstration video at Lancôme.com and realized how slight the vibrations actually are; so slight that I probably do not need to worry about inflicting injury. Also, you must hold down the power button as you apply, for added safety. The Lancôme Oscillation Power Mascara boasts 7,000 oscillations per minute! That is some high-tech beauty! This product sells for $34 at Lancome.com with 6% cash back. Also, you receive a complimentary gift and free shipping; just enter code POWERMASCARA at checkout! I think it is definitely worth a try, if not just to weigh in you opinion on the matter and get a great free gift to boot!

Esteelauder If you are more of an Estee Lauder person, don't despair. They have launched ' Turbolash' All Effects Motion Mascara. Turbolash promises volume, length, curl, and separation all with one stroke of the trademarked and patent-pending LashSonic brush. This product was the first vibrating wand mascara, and it sells for $32 at Nordstrom with 3% cash back.

So the world of technology continues, taking with it a beauty staple like mascara. While I do enjoy the novelty of a vibrating mascara, and think its a fun addition to the makeup bag, I'm still a fan of my Givenchy Phenomenon eyes, as the ball applicator is enough tech for me.
