Technology is a fickle thing. I remember buying my very first flash drive almost five years ago. It was a thing of beauty - a clear SanDisk mini thumb drive with a cool 128MB of space - all for a seemingly-reasonable price of $35 after rebates. I was the coolest kid on the block, and could shove almost sixty of those outdated floppy disks on my tiny little drive. Boy was I happy.
With that said, if there's one single piece of gadgetry that demonstrates how ridiculous technology gets with time, it's flash drives. Once coming in incremental amounts for exorbitant amounts of money, you can now get a flash drive that can hold almost four DVDs for under $30. That's right, this little rugged vessel aside my words holds 16GB of data and it's only $29.99 after rebate from Newegg.com. Plus, not only is it dirt cheap, but the Corsair Flash Voyager is also one of the most durable and dependable flash drives on the market. Sure, it may look like a poor man's mini-torpedo at first, but it's curious rubber housing actually gives it unparalleled protection for your data. While you probably shouldn't try it, this little drive has been frozen, boiled, and run over without a single lost file. Try doing that with four DVDs or 888 (!) floppy discs.
Either way, this 16GB Corsair Flash Voyager is a great deal on a great product from Newegg. Toss in free shipping and Ebates' 2% Cash Back, and you've got a deal that no self-respecting nerd can turn down.
