Before I even get going on this blog today, I will acknowledge: Busted Tees is not a particularly obscure website to a lot of people. You'll probably recognize some of their designs if you click through a little bit. You may have even seen banner ads for them somewhere if you're into any number of comedy or artsy websites and blogs. Even the name is fairly self-explanatory, so if you're looking through the Apparel category here at Ebates, it wouldn't take long to figure out that this is a t-shirt site.
At this point, you're probably asking "So Bill, if you don't think the site is especially unique or different, why is it on the 'Did you know' posting?" Simple, good readers: I am writing about it because it is just too awesome not to write about. See, for about three years or so now, I've been known as "that guy with the really clever/funny/interesting t-shirts". I won't go so far as to call it an obsession; rather I'd say it's more like a hobby of mine. It's a bit of a blessing and a curse at the same time: while it makes me easily identifiable, and often leads to some manner of conversation, I do find myself reading numerous t-shirt design blogs, cruising a seemingly-endless ocean of t-shirt websites, and frantically bookmarking the great designs that have to wait for another paycheck or two. Still, for someone who wears t-shirts to work about 80% of the time, the choice of "what tee best expresses my mood today?" is a welcome question most every morning.
While I doubt that most followers of this blog really have the die-hard interest in t-shirt design that I do, there are a number of tees on this site that really bear at least a looking at. I remember years ago when I first stumbled upon this site, I sent links to friends of mine far and wide with designs that had me laughing. And while they seem to have shifted the overall content of their designs to pop culture references and TV/movie quotes, they still have some of the classic designs that got me hooked in the first place.
Still, the best part of Busted Tees is threefold. First, they have now started printing all their designs on American Apparel made t-shirts. For those of you who only know AA by their emaciated models, I can say without hesitation, they make a much finer quality tee than most other manufacturers; they're soft, they are lightweight, and they are durable as all get out. They are a bit more fitted, but that is the trend these days. The second reason Busted Tees is amazing is their weekly "twelve for twelve" promotion. Every week, they feature twelve t-shirt designs at just $12 a shirt, which is significantly less than you'd pay for a blank American Apparel tee. You're basically getting money back to get a cool design on your shirt. The third and final part of why Busted Tees is amazing is that when you shop from them through Ebates, you get a whopping 10% Cash Back. There are a few random sites here and there that offer higher Cash Back percentages than that, but they're pretty few and far between.
